#7 America's Next Top Model

So saturday was the open call audition for America's Next Top Model.  My friend Mary and I decided we wanted to go try out because this season is 5'7" and under (I'm only 5'4").  Friday night we wanted to make sure we had all of the required elements for the audition: application (72 questions), 3 pictures (close up, full body, bathing suit), and a copy of our drivers license.  We needed to take the pictures so we went driving around trying to find a good spot to take them.  We ended up driving down this alley and finding this run down 4 car garage.  The lighting was bright enough and the scenery made the pictures look very artsy!  When we were in our bathing suits a car actually pulled up into the garage and thought it was a dare - also a cab kept driving back and forth.  It was quite an adventure.   Anyways so the next day we have everything we need and we go stand in line outside the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena.
There were lots of camera crews talking to the girls in line - Ross Matthews (the intern) for the Jay Leno Show and EXTRA.  We finally get inside and its more waiting.  We then soon found out that what they call an "audition" is actually you standing in front of the camera saying your NAME, AGE, and HEIGHT.  They then decide if you will go on to round 2 by only judging your appearance and if you are the look they need for the show.  What a JOKE!  The worse part is that they didn't take the application or the pictures.  It was definitely a waste of time.  I would never recommend the open call to anyone.

Being rejected models, Mary and I then met up with the crew in Malibu where we all played games and soaked up the sun.  I ended up falling asleep for about an hour and it was the best nap ever.  The beach is so gorgeous, but the water was freeeeezing!  Luckily, the beach turned a disappointing day into an amazing one.
